M. Tsiakkis: Positive Framework for ATA with Gradual Implementation

Marios Tsiakkis, former general secretary of KEBE, stated that the issue of ATA should be resolved permanently to avoid disruptions in labor relations.
Specifically, he mentioned that he considers the basis submitted by the Minister of Labor for extending ATA to all employees as positive, but with a gradual implementation, so that 100% of ATA is not paid to those receiving high salaries.
According to Mr. Tsiakkis, the salary level that the State wants to protect from inflation should be determined. He considers the automatic payment of ATA on the total of high salaries (5 thousand and above) unsustainable.
Mr. Tsiakkis called on the Government to present its proposal in more detail and the social partners to discuss the framework for a permanent solution that will ensure the restoration of wages and labor peace.
