Marinopoulos Era Ends with Starbucks Sale
Share on:

The Marinopoulos family is gradually withdrawing from its business activities, with the sale of Marinopoulos Kafe A.E. (Starbucks) to the Alshaya Group marking the end of an era.

Following the loss of Famar and the collapse of Marinopoulos A.E., the sale of Starbucks concludes a cycle. The only remaining entity is GAP Greece, which is undergoing a restructuring process, with the franchise agreement expiring in 2028.

Marinopoulos Brothers SA is transferring 100% of Marinopoulos Kafe A.E., including operations in Greece and Cyprus. The price for the shares is symbolic (€1), but the new investor undertakes to pay €13.2 million and contribute an additional €5 million through a share capital increase to repay liabilities.
