"Black List" for State Entities with Debts to Individuals

The Ministry of National Economy and Finance is preparing a "black list" of state entities that delay payments to individuals. The list will be published regularly from 2026.
According to Newmoney.gr, this move aims to create public pressure on the administrations of these entities to expedite payments. The list will include the largest public sector "bad payers" by name, mainly state hospitals and Local Government Organizations.
The overdue debts of the public sector amount to €3.9 billion in August, with public hospitals and local authorities holding the largest share of these debts.
