Bank Fee Reductions at ATMs Starting 11/08

Starting Monday, August 11, 2025, bank fee reductions will take effect, according to a new regulation by the Ministry of National Economy and Finance. The changes mainly concern ATM transactions.
Fees for cash withdrawals from ATMs of Greek banks are completely abolished. At the same time, a maximum charge of €1.50 is established for withdrawals from third-party ATMs.
The Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, stated that this is an intervention with a social character, demonstrating that the state responds directly to the needs of citizens.
The regulation also provides for:
- Zero fees for withdrawals between banks in the DIAS system.
- Abolition of charges from third-party providers with a shareholding connection to the bank.
- Zero charges from third-party providers in municipal communities with only one ATM.
- Free balance inquiry.
- A uniform charge of €0.50 for remittances via digital channels.
In addition, it is legislatively guaranteed that no bank can charge its customers for cash withdrawals.
