Grape production is limited this year, according to the General Director of the Cooperative Organization for the Disposal of Viticultural Products (SODAP), Yagos Tsivikos. As he stated to CYPE, the receipt of grapes by the organization will be completed, at the latest, by the end of September.

Mr. Tsivikos mentioned that the low production is due to the heatwave, drought, and fires in mountainous Limassol, where 5,000 hectares of vineyards were destroyed. The snowfall in the Panagia area in May also had an impact.

He pointed out that SODAP will receive smaller quantities, but prices have increased for all varieties. The quality of the grapes is described as "very good", which will allow the production of "excellent quality wines".

Mr. Tsivikos emphasized that producers support SODAP, which remains the factory that receives the largest quantities.
