Self-Employed: Increased EFKA Contributions from January 2026

From February 20, 2026, EFKA will post notices of increased insurance contributions by 2.5% for January 2026, for the self-employed, independently employed, and farmers. The payment deadline is February 28, 2026.

The increase for the self-employed and independently employed ranges from 6.12 to 16.48 euros, depending on the insurance category they had chosen until January 31, 2026. For farmers, the increase is smaller, from 3.64 to 9.87 euros.

The self-employed will not be able to change insurance categories for 2026. Those who did not make a change will remain in the 2025 category.

Contributions can be paid via e-banking, at a bank branch, via ELTA, or via IRIS.

Detailed increases:

  • Self-employed and independently employed: Contributions in the 1st insurance category increase to 250.77 euros, while in the 6th to 675.87 euros.
  • Farmers: Contributions in the 1st insurance category increase to 149.27 euros, while in the 6th to 404.81 euros.
