Zero VAT on Meat and Fish Starting April 6

The Department of Taxation announced that, based on a decree published in the Official Gazette of the Republic, a zero VAT rate will be applied to deliveries of meat and fish from April 6 to September 30.
The decision concerns specific tariff classification codes, including fresh, chilled, or frozen beef, pork, sheep, and goat meat, as well as edible offal. It also covers fresh, chilled, or frozen fish, as well as cuttlefish, squid, and octopus.
It is noted that the reduced VAT rate of 5% continues to apply to meat and fish preparations, such as marinated meats, smoked products, sheftalia, canned fish, etc.
