Mitsotakis: Update for Cyprus cable, new investors

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides announced the update of the financial and technical parameters for the Greece-Cyprus electricity interconnection project, aiming to strengthen the project through the entry of new investors.
The announcement was made after the completion of the 3rd Greece-Cyprus Intergovernmental Cooperation Summit. Mr. Mitsotakis stressed that Greece seeks a green transition but also wishes to utilize its own energy resources, as Cyprus is already doing.
Mr. Christodoulides reiterated the strategic importance of cooperation between Greece and Cyprus, while also referring to Cyprus' upcoming assumption of the Presidency of the European Union in 2026.
During the summit, issues such as cooperation in the fields of education, health, transport, justice, civil protection, and digital policy were also discussed.
