The Ministry of Labor presents the main changes of the new labor bill through 17 questions and answers. The bill simplifies procedures, facilitates recruitment and strengthens the controls of the Labor Inspectorate.

Key changes include:

  • Greater freedoms for employees in arranging working hours.
  • Possibility for a working parent to work 4 days a week.
  • Greater freedom in the request for the distribution of annual leave.
  • More women entitled to pregnancy and maternity allowance.
  • Parental leave allowance is tax-free, non-transferable and unattachable.
  • Regulations for the protection of health and safety at work.

Facilitations for businesses:

  • Simplification of the recruitment process.
  • Fast-track fixed-term recruitment for up to 2 days.
  • Abolition of many forms.

The bill ensures that the eight-hour day remains in force, while overtime requires the employee's consent. Also, the reduction of wages after the implementation of the Digital Work Card is prohibited.
