Minimum Wage Increase in Effect from January 1, 2026

The State is proceeding with a revision of minimum wage limits, following a decision by the Council of Ministers on December 23, 2025. The new Decree was issued and published in the Official Gazette of the Republic on December 31, 2025, and comes into effect on January 1, 2026.

According to the Decree:

• The National Minimum Wage upon hiring increases from €900 to €979 gross for employees who have not completed six months of continuous employment with the same employer.
• After six months of continuous employment, the minimum monthly wage increases from €1,000 to €1,088 gross.

These amounts apply to full-time employment, with proportional adjustment for part-time employment. The full-time working hours remain as they were.

The Amending Decree of 2023 is repealed.
