OEB: Common Goal with the State for Tax Reform

The public consultation on tax reform is entering its final stage, aiming for implementation with the arrival of the new year. On September 10, the Tax Commissioner will meet with the OEB for consultation.

OEB's General Director, Michalis Antoniou, stated that entrepreneurs agree with the philosophy of the reform, but there are reservations about the technical nature of some provisions. Intense discussions preceded regarding the risks to businesses, with the Minister of Finance Makis Keraunos warning of the withdrawal of the bill if the philosophy of the reform is altered.

Mr. Antoniou emphasized that the common goal with the state is to unlock the productive potential of the economy. The Tax Commissioner also had a meeting with the KEBE. The consultation is expected to be completed on September 10.
