Global Accountant Confidence Remains Fragile Despite Q2 Rise

The ACCA and IMA's Global Economic Conditions Survey (GECS) showed an increase in global confidence in Q2 2025, reaching its highest level since Q3 2024. However, confidence among accountants remains low.
The New Orders and Capital Expenditure indices saw a slight decrease, while the Employment Index improved.
North America and Western Europe saw an increase in confidence, while Asia-Pacific declined. ACCA's Jonathan Ashworth noted that global growth has been resilient, but a slowdown is expected in the second half of 2025.
IMA's Alain Mulder added that global cost pressure has decreased, but remains high in North America.
For the first time, geopolitics emerged as the main risk factor for accountants worldwide.
