Panagrotikos requests financial support for farmers due to water cuts

The Panagrotikos Union of Cyprus is requesting financial support for farmers affected by irrigation water supply cuts. The Union expressed concern about the Department of Water Development (Τ.Α.Υ.) informing farmers that they will not be provided with water, without consultation.
Panagrotikos points out that water scarcity, climate change, and state inaction have led to zero water reserves. It emphasizes the need for a continuous supply of irrigation water and a uniform price, stressing that if this is not possible, the state must provide financial support and compensation to farmers.
Panagrotikos calls on the President of the Republic to intervene by announcing financial support and more projects to meet the needs of the primary sector. Financial assistance is not a solution to the problem, it says.
