Papathanasis: €250 Million Increase for Tourism SMEs

The Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis, announced a budget increase of €250 million for the action “Strengthening the establishment and operation of new tourism SMEs.”

This increase will allow funding for over 68% of the submitted proposals. Previously, 3,313 investment plans with a total budget of €1.09 billion had been subsidized, while the new increase is expected to exceed 4,600 plans, reaching €1.6 billion.

In total, 6,669 funding applications have been submitted. Mr. Papathanasis emphasized that this increase demonstrates the importance the government places on supporting entrepreneurship, especially in tourism.
