Electricity subsidy extended for vulnerable groups and businesses

The Council of Ministers has decided to extend the electricity subsidy for vulnerable groups and businesses until the end of 2026.

The Minister of Finance, Makis Keraunos, stated that the decision continues the subsidy for category "08", providing a reduction in bills for thousands of households and businesses.

Mr. Keraunos emphasized that the government's standing policy is to strengthen the income of citizens, especially vulnerable groups, through multiple means and at various levels, such as tax reform and maintaining zero and low VAT rates on everyday products.

Referring to the Cost-of-Living Allowance (ATA), he expressed confidence in reaching an agreement soon, despite the ups and downs in the consultations.
