Trade unions expressed satisfaction after a meeting at the Presidential Palace under President Nikos Christodoulides regarding the ATA. The signing of an initial agreement on the matter was scheduled for 2 pm.

The General Secretary of PASIDY, Stratis Matthaiou, stated that the ATA will be paid at 80% on 1/1/2026, at 90% on 1/7/2026, and at 100% on 1/7/2027. From then on, it will be paid at 100% every July. The average growth rate of the previous year, which must be positive, will be taken into account for the payment.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the trade unions SEK, PEO, DEOK, PASIDY, the Minister of Labor Yannis Panagiotou, the Minister of Finance Makis Keraunos, the Deputy Minister to the President Irene Piki, and the Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis.

There will be a ceiling on the ATA payment for inflation up to 4%. If inflation is above 4%, the ATA will only be paid up to 4%.

Regarding the minimum wage, Mr. Matthaiou mentioned that the national minimum wage is linked to the ATA through the incorporation of an amount corresponding to the respective cost of living allowance of the two previous years. The issue will be discussed again in 2028.

The Director General of OEB, Michalis Antoniou, stated that they have not yet seen the final texts of the agreement.
