Poland Upgrades Travel Advisory for Cyprus – Warnings Remain for UK, USA

The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Kostas Koumis, welcomed Poland's upgrade of its travel advisory for Cyprus to level 1, indicating normal caution. This development is considered positive for Cyprus' image as a safe tourist destination.

Antonis Orthodoxou from the Association of Travel and Tourist Agents of Cyprus (ACTA) emphasized that the upgrade, combined with hosting the Informal Meeting of EU Tourism Ministers, enhances the country's safety and is expected to positively impact tourist arrivals.

However, warnings remain from the United Kingdom and the USA. The United Kingdom warns of potential terrorist attacks in Cyprus, while the USA has placed Cyprus at level 3 (reconsider travel) for its citizens.

Poland's travel advisory recommends additional caution in the occupied territories and near the British military bases.
