Motor Oil – DESFA Conflict over Corinth FSRU

A conflict has erupted between Motor Oil and DESFA regarding the FSRU (Floating Storage Regasification Unit) in Corinth. The Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAAE) is examining the exclusion of Dioryga Gas's investment plan, worth 400 million euros, from DESFA's Ten-Year Development Program 2026–2035.
The investment plan, totaling 984 million euros, is under public consultation by RAAE until March 13, 2026. DESFA attributes this development to the failure of the implementing body to fulfill contractual obligations in a timely manner, which led to the termination of the relevant contract and the removal of the projects from the Ten-Year Program.
According to the plan put up for consultation, DESFA is removing from its planning the Metering and Regulatory Station that would ensure the connection of the FSRU to the National Natural Gas Transmission System, as well as the doubling of the Patima – Livadeia high-pressure branch.
