The president of KEBE, Stavros Stavrou, in his New Year's message, emphasized the need for realistic planning and targeted reforms ahead of 2026. He pointed out that the positive course of the Cypriot economy should not lead to complacency.

The Cypriot economy has shown resilience and dynamism, despite geopolitical tensions and energy crises. Mr. Stavrou stated that the economy is on a positive track, with growth exceeding the Eurozone average and unemployment remaining close to 5%.

2026 is characterized as a pivotal year, with priority given to maintaining prudent fiscal policy. Special emphasis is placed on tax reform to enhance Cyprus' competitiveness.

KEBE expresses its confidence that Cyprus can enter 2026 as a more resilient and fair economy, with consistency, reforms, and long-term planning.
