ATM Fees Eliminated via DIAS starting August 11

Starting Monday, August 11, fees for cash withdrawals from Greek bank ATMs via the DIAS interbank system will be eliminated. The regulation, passed on July 25, also provides a ceiling of €1.50 for withdrawals from third-party ATM providers.
The Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, stated that this intervention has a social character and ensures free access to money for every citizen.
The changes include:
- Zero commission for withdrawals between banks in the DIAS system.
- Elimination of charges from third-party providers with a shareholding connection to the customer's bank.
- Zero charges from third-party providers in municipal communities with only one ATM.
- Ceiling of €1.50 for withdrawals from third-party ATM providers.
- Free balance inquiry.
- Uniform charge of €0.50 for remittances via digital channels from third-party providers.
In addition, it is legislatively guaranteed that no bank can charge its customers for cash withdrawals.
