Vafiadis: Electric Vehicle Scheme to Exhaust Funds Quickly
Share on:

The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafiadis, expressed his belief that the new grant scheme for electric vehicles will be exhausted sooner than the anticipated deadline.

Following the completion of the current scheme, which concerns 97 unallocated grants from the Recovery and Resilience Fund, the Government is launching a new scheme worth €2.5 million from state resources.

The electric vehicle scheme includes two phases. The first concerns the 97 applications pending from the previous scheme. Vehicle registration for this phase must be completed by December 31, 2025.

After these grants are exhausted, a new scheme with €2.5 million from state resources will begin. The terms of participation remain the same, with a registration deadline of October 31, 2025.

Additionally, Mr. Vafiadis mentioned the installation of new types of smart bus stops, starting with areas of limited use and progressing to areas of high use, as well as mountainous regions with stops providing greater weather protection.
