«Seed Funding Competition Awards 2025» Awarded to Cypriot Tourism Businesses

The «Zero Waste HoReCa – Seed Funding Competition Awards 2025» ceremony took place in Nicosia, under the auspices of the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr. Costas Koumis. The €10,000 prize money was shared by 16 small tourism businesses and the Sustainable Tourism Community of Amargeti for introducing best practices.
The competition is organized by the AKTI Centre for Studies and Research, with the support of The Coca-Cola Foundation, aiming at the sustainable operation of the tourism industry in Cyprus.
The 16 winners were selected from among the 350 members of the Zero Waste HoReCa Network, confirming the green transition of Cypriot tourism. Among the awardees were: K.S. Espresso Nine Coffee, Eco Avocado @myEcoland.CY, and Midway Restaurant.
The Zero Waste HoReCa program promotes sustainability and economic empowerment in the Hospitality, Catering and Mass Catering (HoReCa) sector, providing tools for waste management, water and energy conservation.
Amargeti was declared a Sustainable Tourism Community in Cyprus, sealing the cooperation with hospitality and catering businesses.
Mr. Vakis Loizidis, representing Mr. Costas Koumis, and Dr. Xenia Loizidou, emphasized the importance of the program for the green transition of tourism. Mr. Andreas Giortsios highlighted the contribution of Coca-Cola HBC Cyprus.
