Hardalias: Tourism is a key driver for Attica's growth

The Regional Governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias, met with the Board of Directors of SETE to discuss strategies for enhancing Attica's attractiveness as a tourist destination.

Mr. Hardalias emphasized that Attica has unique advantages and can be a leading international destination, not only as a city break destination but also as a Metropolitan Region offering year-round experiences.

He also pointed out that the Region of Attica is the first Greek Region to establish a Destination Management and Promotion Organization (DMMO) called 'The Greater Athens Region'.

Particular emphasis was placed on linking Attica's cultural heritage with tourism, as well as on signing the Integrated Spatial Investment (ΟΧΕ) of 40 million euros with the Ministry of Culture to upgrade cultural infrastructure and services.

Mr. Hardalias stated that tourism is a key driver of growth and extroversion for Attica.
