Ministry Expresses Surprise at Carriers' Strike Amid Consultation

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works has expressed surprise at the announced strike by the Pancyprian Transport Union A’, given that a public consultation on amending bills is underway.
The bills concern the permissible load height for ISO Container High Cube containers and the lateral protection of variable-length semi-trailers.
The Ministry states that it cannot commit to completing the procedures in the House of Representatives by Wednesday, as the voting on the bills is the responsibility of the Legislative Authority.
The public consultation is open until November 28, 2025.
The Ministry reaffirms its commitment to dialogue and cooperation with industry stakeholders.
