Cabinet: Details of Financial Support for Fire Victims

The Council of Ministers has announced details of financial support for fire victims in the communities affected by the recent fires. The measures include one-time payments, rental subsidies, and full restoration of damages.

Affected Communities: Omodos, Arsos, Koilani, Vasa Koilaniou, Vouni, Sylikou, Malia, Laneia, Lofou, Agios Therapon, Agios Ambrosios, Kissousa, Pachna, Kato Kivides, Pano Kivides, Souni-Zanakia, Alassa, Monagri, Pera Pedi, Kouka, Potamiou, Sotira, and Ypsonas.

Measure 1: One-Time Payment: Provided to cover basic needs for families whose permanent residence has suffered partial or total destruction. For total destruction, the amount is €10,000 per family plus €2,000 per dependent child. For partial destruction, the amount is €5,000 per family plus €1,000 per dependent child.

Measure 2: Rental Subsidy: Rent will be paid from September 1, 2025, quarterly, at €800 per family, plus €200 for each dependent child, for a specific duration depending on the extent of the damage.

Measure 3: Full Restoration of Damages: ETEK will assess the cost of restoring the damages. Financial assistance will be granted to applicants after signing a relevant Responsible Declaration accepting the amount of financial assistance granted.

Other Measures: Fee exemptions, rent exemptions, reissue of travel documents.
