Finance Minister Makis Keravnos expressed optimism about reaching an agreement on the issue of the Automatic Cost of Living Allowance (ATA), stating that he expects a "positive outcome" to the consultations "very soon."

Following a session of the Council of Ministers, Mr. Keravnos emphasized that consultations are ongoing, both at the level of the President of the Republic and with the Ministry of Finance. He stated that his assessment is based on "the logic prevailing among social partners and trade unions and the employers' side that none of us should let things have unpleasant developments."

Asked about the possibility of tax incentives for employers, the Minister clarified that the Government is willing to provide incentives "so that more employers adopt the ATA so that more employees are under the ATA regime."

Mr. Keravnos pointed out that the effort to reach an agreement is part of the Government's policy to "strengthen incomes, especially those of vulnerable and low-income citizens."
