13-year-old Majed to be sent from occupied territories to Turkey for family reunification

Procedures are underway for the reunification of 13-year-old M.A., from Syria, with his family in Turkey. M.A. had disappeared from the free areas of Cyprus and was recently located in the occupied territories.

According to a written statement from the 'social services department' in the occupied territories, the child's family has been located in Turkey and communication has already taken place. The ultimate goal, after the completion of legal procedures, is the safe return of the minor to his family.

The 13-year-old, who had been reported as a missing person by the Cyprus Police since August 6, 2025, is in good health and is under protection. He is currently housed at the 'Tangul Unal Caginer House of Love' center.

The Turkish Cypriot 'authorities' are closely monitoring the issue, ensuring that the process is conducted in accordance with international principles for children's rights.
