48 Years Since the Passing of Archbishop Makarios III

It has been 48 years since the passing of Ethnarch Archbishop Makarios III of Cyprus, who died on August 3, 1977, at the age of 64.

Metropolitan Seraphim of Zimbabwe and Angola spoke about the importance of unity and cooperation, as well as supporting the disadvantaged and charitable actions, as a form of remembrance of Makarios III.

The Metropolitan expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the spiritual father of Archbishop Makarios III, the late Abbot of Kykkos Chrysostomos, emphasizing his work at the Kykkos Schools and support for the EOKA struggle.

He also referred to the miracle of the multiplication of the five loaves and two fish, linking it to the need to address material problems and cooperation with God.

Finally, he appealed for peace in Ukraine, Russia, and Gaza, as well as for addressing climate change.
