The 120 employees of Larnaca Public Transport (LPT) began a 48-hour strike today at 05:30, gathering at the Larnaca bus station.

According to a statement by the unions ΟΜΕΠΕΓΕ-ΣΕΚ, ΣΕΓΔΑΜΕΛΙΝ-ΠΕΟ and ΔΕΕ ΕΜΠΟΡΙΚΩΝ ΔΕΟΚ, the strike is due to a violation of the collective agreement, as confirmed by the Department of Labour Relations of the Ministry of Labour.

The violation concerns the agreed working hours of 38 hours per week. The unions are calling on Larnaca Public Transport Services and Operations Ltd to respect the collective agreement.
