58,000 Students Return to Schools in Occupied Territories

Approximately 58,000 primary and secondary education students will return to schools in the occupied territories on Monday.

According to reports, the 'Minister of Education,' Nazım Çavuşoğlu, stated that around 28,000 students will attend primary school, 25,000 will attend junior and senior high school, and 4,000 will attend vocational and technical education.

Mr. Çavuşoğlu mentioned that 29 schools have been renovated, and works are planned for 7 new schools, with an investment of 1.792 billion TL. He also reminded that the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Architects inspected 128 schools, of which 6 require reinforcement.

The goal is to limit class sizes to no more than 30 students. Furthermore, in recent years, with the support of Turkey, 19 new schools have been built, while 10 were demolished and rebuilt. The construction of 7 new schools is planned, including a new primary school in Karavas and a technical high school in occupied Famagusta.
