A. Michaelidou: Experiential and Creative School

The Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Athena Michaelidou, stated that the Ministry is working towards an experiential and creative school. According to her post on the platform "X", the goal is for students to actively participate and become citizens with ethos and dignity.

Ms. Michaelidou mentioned that during the school year 2025-2026, the implementation of President Christodoulides' Governance Program will continue, with a human-centered approach and support for every child.

The basic educational policies for kindergartens, primary and special schools have already been announced and are priorities. Indicative actions being implemented this year include the extension of free pre-primary education, the enrichment of curricula with digital innovations, the increase of all-day schools, the strengthening of Greek as a second language, and the expansion of the remedial teaching program.

In addition, there will be an expansion of participation in the functional literacy remedial teaching program, a pilot implementation of a second kindergarten teacher in kindergarten classes, a revised "Smooth Transition" guide, an expansion of the application of Counseling Education, and the teaching of financial literacy.

"To build an inclusive, innovative and human-centered educational system," Ms. Michaelidou emphasized, adding that this is the new beginning.
