Foot-and-Mouth Disease: New Case Detected in Dromolaxia

Another livestock farm with cases of foot-and-mouth disease has been detected in Dromolaxia by the Veterinary Services.
The unit, which raises sheep and goats, is located within the infected zone. The culling of approximately 85 animals will follow.
The total number of infected units now stands at 50. Sampling in the Paphos district has been completed with negative results, while sampling continues in the remaining districts.
At the same time, the second vaccination of animals is underway, with coverage reaching 52% of cattle and 26.5% of sheep and goats. Vaccination of pigs has also started, prioritizing piggeries within the infected areas.
