Oroklini and Livadia are on alert due to positive cases of foot and mouth disease in livestock farms.

The Deputy Mayor of Livadia stated that they are providing support services to address the situation. The Deputy Mayor of Oroklini, Neophytos Fakontis, emphasized that the protection of public health is a top priority.

In the livestock area of Oroklini, there are 8 farms with sheep only, while in Livadia there are 5 farms, one with sheep only and four with both sheep and cows. The farms of Livadia are located less than 100 meters from the residential area of Oroklini.

Mr. Fakontis expressed concerns about the possible spread of the virus to other areas, as company vehicles had been visiting the farms for two weeks.

The Deputy Mayor of Livadia, Marios Armenis, stated that the Livadia Municipal Department provides support services, such as water for spraying and equipment for road closures.
