A 20-year-old lost his life on Larnakos Avenue in Aglantzia, at a spot residents and workers describe as a speed track. Despite repeated complaints and letters from the Municipality of Aglantzia to the police since 2018, no measures were taken to prevent racing.

According to Deputy Mayor Andreas Constantinou, none of the municipality's letters received a response. While the police recorded 780 complaints, there was no permanent solution, such as the installation of cameras. The Minister of Transport stated he was unaware of the problem.

A police representative emphasized the importance of education from home but stressed the need for more effective controls by the authorities.

In 2020, on the same road, a 20-year-old was seriously injured and is now disabled.

The last letter from the Municipality of Aglantzia to the police was sent on May 26.
