EAC: Continuous Work in Fire-Affected Areas of Limassol

Restoration work continues unabated on the power grid in the fire-affected areas of the Limassol district, according to the EAC's (Electricity Authority of Cyprus) Press Officer, Christina Papadopoulou.
So far, 178 out of 400 burnt poles and 8 out of 50 burnt transformers have been replaced. In addition, 3.5 kilometers of medium voltage overhead network have been constructed.
Ms. Papadopoulou emphasized the excellent coordination of the crews, consisting of more than 150 people, who are working under difficult and dangerous conditions. Power supply has been restored to the center of seven communities with mobile generators and electricity to nine other communities.
The EAC used drones to record damage in inaccessible areas. There were no difficulties in finding materials and equipment.
The priority is to restore the central core of the network and then connect the houses, after checking their safety.
