Study Extension Denied: Student Passed Only Half of Courses

The Administrative Court rejected the appeal of a student from Bangladesh who requested an extension of his residence permit in Cyprus for studies. The student, who arrived in Cyprus in 2015, was supposed to have completed his studies in 2019.
Despite the two extensions granted to him until 2021, he had not managed to pass all the courses. The Department of Immigration refused to grant him a new extension, as the investigation revealed that he had only passed half of the courses.
Judge Elita Gabriel ruled that the decision of the Department of Immigration was lawful, as it took into account all the data and conducted sufficient research.
The Court's decision confirms the refusal for further extension of the student visa, due to unsatisfactory progress in studies.
