Bus Drivers' Protest in Nicosia Cancelled

The planned bus drivers' protest in Nicosia, scheduled for today, has been cancelled, according to a police announcement. The suspension of the mobilization also concerns employees of Larnaca Buses.

The unions ΣΕΓΔΑΜΕΛΙΝ-ΠΕΟ, ΟΜΕΠΕΓΕ-ΣΕΚ, ΔΕΕ ΕΜΠΟΡΙΚΩΝ ΔΕΟΚ announced the suspension pending a meeting with the Director of Industrial Relations of the Ministry of Labour. In a joint statement, the unions stated that the mobilization is suspended as a sign of good will due to the invitation to a meeting at the Ministry of Labour.

The outcome of the meeting will be announced at a General Assembly of workers. The police confirmed the cancellation of the protest in Nicosia.
