Changes to Car First Aid Kit: What's Required from June 18

A new decision by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Konstantinos Kyranakis, changes the contents of the first aid kit that must be present in every car.

According to the decision, which comes into effect on June 18, the car first aid kit must include at least 16 items.

These include: an isothermal rescue blanket, adhesive bandage, wound dressing, bandages, burn and wound dressing, first aid scissors, disposable gloves, skin cleansing wipes, a medical face mask, and first aid instructions.

The fine for an incomplete first aid kit is 30 euros, according to the Traffic Code.

The first aid kit must be easily accessible and its contents must be renewed regularly, especially during the summer months, and no later than two years.
