Doubts have emerged regarding the relocation of the University of Cyprus' Architecture School to the historic Faneromeni school. The Rector of the University of Cyprus, Tasos Christofides, stated that there are issues with the agreements made with the Archbishopric.

According to Mr. Christofides, the cost for the renovation of the old building and the construction of a new complementary building amounted to 11.7 million euros, with 6.7 million euros to be covered by the Recovery and Resilience Plan and the remainder by the Government. Due to delays, the project was removed from the Plan, and now there is uncertainty as to whether the Government will cover the total amount.

If the Government does not cover the amount, the University will proceed with the renovation of the old building, but will not be able to house the Architecture Department there. Other entities will be housed there.

All parties are awaiting the decision of the Ministry of Finance.
