License revoked for Unique Development in Sarakiniko, Milos

The building permit for UNIQUE DEVELOPMENTS A.T.E.E. for a project in the Sarakiniko area of Milos has been revoked. The decision was made by the Building Service of the Municipality of Milos (YDOM), after it was found that not all required approvals and supporting documents had been submitted.

The Municipality of Milos welcomed the decision, emphasizing that the control mechanisms operate with transparency and strict adherence to legality. The revocation of the permit prevents the construction of a five-star hotel with luxury villas and swimming pools, for which a total of seven permits had been issued, the first in 2018.

The revelation of the works had provoked reactions from residents, environmental organizations and the competent authorities. The Ministry of Environment had frozen the works and requested a legality check from the Independent Transparency Authority, which rejected the legality of the permit.
