Recall of Plugs, Chargers, and Electrical Goods – Electrical and Mechanical Services Department Recommends Caution

The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department is warning the public about dangerous products such as power plugs, chargers, and other electrical goods. The information was received from the Consumer Protection Service during the 34th week of 2025, through the EU's rapid alert system (Safety Gate) for dangerous non-food products.
Details of the dangerous products can be found via Safety Gate using the notification number of each product.
The Department calls on importers, distributors, and sellers to immediately stop distributing the products and notify the Department. Consumers are urged to stop using the products, where appropriate, and return them to the point of purchase, informing the seller.
In the event of a recall, economic operators must recall the products from the market and provide effective and free redress to consumers without any time limit.
In the event of purchasing a non-compliant product, the consumer is entitled to a replacement or withdrawal, in accordance with the Law on Certain Aspects Concerning Contracts for the Sale of Goods of 2021. The rights are valid for 2 years from the delivery of the product, with the exclusive responsibility of the final seller.
Complaints can be submitted in writing via the website of the Consumer Protection Service.
For information or complaints, consumers can contact the Department at 22800522 and 22800518 or by email at [email protected].
The products deemed dangerous are as follows: Notification Nos. SR/03016/25 to 00131/25.
