Paphos Airport Old Road to be Upgraded After Official Registration

After decades of not being registered in official state records, the old road to Paphos Airport, from the community of Timi, is being upgraded. The road, which serves the increased traffic flow to the airport, will be improved following intervention by the Parliamentary Committee on Transport, Communications and Works.

DIKO MP for Paphos, Chrysanthos Savvidis, stated that the study for the electrification of the road has already begun, while a regulatory plan for its further improvement is being promoted. As it was only discovered in 2025, the road had not been officially registered for decades.

Mr. Savvidis emphasized the immediate necessity of the improvement works, given the increase in traffic at Paphos Airport. He pointed out that the current condition of the road is not consistent with the image that Paphos should have for tourists and residents.

"We will further push in every direction for the improvement of this road, so that the expansion of Paphos Airport coincides at least with the noticeable improvement of the existing road," he stated.
