Parents Concerned About School Bus Safety in Cyprus

The Pancyprian Confederation of Parents' Associations of Public Secondary Schools has expressed concern about the safety of students transported by school buses, following a report on bus fires.
In a statement, the Confederation stated that the foreign expert's report, which identifies inadequate maintenance as the main cause of the fires, raises serious questions.
Organized parents are calling for an immediate inspection of all buses used for school routes, increased inspections throughout the year, and strict penalties for those who break the law.
They also reiterate their position on creating a register of buses and professional drivers for school routes, emphasizing that the safety of children comes first.
