Increasing Sales of Greek Cypriot Land in Occupied Territories

The phenomenon of Greek Cypriot land being sold to Turks and Turkish Cypriots in occupied Karpasia is taking on alarming dimensions. According to a report in the newspaper "O Fileleftheros", Turkish Cypriot lawyers and Turkish brokers are approaching Greek Cypriot property heirs, offering immediate money to purchase their properties.
The brokers are exploiting the lack of emotional connection of third and fourth-generation refugees with the occupied areas, as well as the financial difficulties they face.
The sale of land is reshaping the property landscape of Karpasia.
