Temperature Rise in Cyprus: Approaching 40 Degrees Celsius

Although extreme temperatures like the recent 45 degrees Celsius are not expected, the mercury will flirt with 40 degrees Celsius in inland Cyprus towards the end of the week. According to Meteorological Officer Panagiotis Georgiou, a drop in temperature is expected in the last week of August.
Mr. Georgiou stated that the weather will be mainly clear in the coming days, with temperatures reaching 37 degrees Celsius inland, 30-33 on the coasts, and 29 in the higher mountains on Sunday. Similar temperatures are expected on Monday and Tuesday.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the temperature may increase by one degree Celsius, with the highest temperature ranging from 38-39 degrees. At the end of the week, the mercury may approach 40 degrees Celsius inland. Mr. Georgiou ruled out the possibility of isolated rains in the higher mountains.
