USS Mitscher Destroyer Docks in Limassol

The USS MITSCHER, an ARLEIGH BURKE-class destroyer, is currently in Cyprus, according to a post by the U.S. Embassy in Nicosia.

The Embassy thanked Limassol for hosting the ship, noting that it is named after Admiral Marc Mitscher, a prominent Navy officer during World War II.

The USS Mitscher departed from Norfolk, Virginia on July 25, 2025, with the mission of deterring adversaries, enhancing American security, and protecting economic prosperity, the Embassy stated. The sailors of the USS MITSCHER will enjoy shore leave while in Limassol.
