Traffic Restored at Rizoelia Roundabout

Traffic flow at the Rizoelia Roundabout has been fully restored, according to the Police. Traffic is now running normally.
Stella Petrou, a representative of the livestock farmers, assured that the roundabout will remain open, but emphasized that the farmers will continue to demand support from the state, especially on issues such as the non-payment of social insurance contributions due to foot-and-mouth disease.
The Ministry of Agriculture, through its Director General Andreas Grigoriou, rejected claims of unequal treatment of livestock farmers, stressing that sampling is carried out based on protocol. He reiterated that the culling of animals in units with cases is mandatory and that compensation will incorporate the cost of social insurance. Compensation for the animals will be paid within 90 days of confirmation of the cases, with the first payments expected by May 20.
