The Consumer Protection Service (ΥΠΚ) has recalled two gel toys from the Cypriot market deemed hazardous to children's health. The products were identified and reported through the European Rapid Alert System for Dangerous Products (Safety Gate RAPEX).

The first product is the Happy Bear brand gel toy, model 22-03192, with barcode 5290666957410. It was found to contain a high concentration of boron, which can harm children's health, potentially affecting their reproductive system. The product was found at MIKAEL TRADING CO. LTD.

The second product is the SUPER COLOR brand gel toy, with barcode 6991205095288, which presents the same risks. It was found at KOSTAKIS D. KOUREAS & SON LTD.

The ΥΠΚ calls on importers, distributors, and sellers to stop distributing the products and consumers to stop using them and return them to the stores where they were purchased.

More information is available in the list of unsafe products notified to the European system (RAPEX – Report 33) for the week starting August 11, 2025.
