Aradippou: Surgery for Injured After Metal Factory Explosion

The three people injured in the explosion at a metal recycling factory in Aradippou underwent surgery. According to Larnaca Police spokesperson Spyros Chrysostomou, the injured – aged 39, 42, and 52 – are hospitalized in serious condition but out of danger.
During the surgery, shrapnel was removed from their bodies, caused by the explosion during the unloading of unexploded military ordnance. Authorities are investigating the origin of the ordnance and the conditions under which the factory received the metals, as well as whether the operation has the relevant permits.
