Police Warns: Law Enforcement at Limassol Fire Protest

Police are warning that the law will be enforced during the planned protest regarding the recent deadly fire in the Limassol mountains. The demonstration is scheduled for today, July 31, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at the Limassol Embankment.
According to a police announcement, the event will be policed by members of the Limassol Police Directorate and the M.M.A.D. Organizers assure that traffic is not expected to be affected.
Police emphasize that they will be on-site to ensure the peaceful conduct of the event and to provide assistance. They also remind that, based on the Public Gatherings and Processions Law 151(I) of 2025, the organizer must ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the protest.
The police have the authority to impose restrictions or even dissolve the gathering, especially if it is not peaceful or if there is a risk of bodily harm or property damage.
Additionally, police may order the removal of items that make a person unrecognizable if there is reasonable suspicion that the gathering is about to become non-peaceful.
